  9. The activists within ICS are working energetically to build our organization and
  10. to develop important
  11. new benefits for ICS members.  I╤d like to tell you about some of these benefits
  12. and give you a brief
  13. progress report on the Society.

  15. IC Goes Monthly
  16. One of the most exciting recent news items is that our journal, Industrial Comput
  17. ing Magazine, is going
  18. monthly!  Although the existing bimonthly issue goes out to a controlled circulat
  19. ion list, in addition to
  20. all ICS members, the new issues will be received only by members.  This will prov
  21. ide us with a
  22. dynamic, professional forum (no slight to our noble newsletter editor intended!)
  23. in which to present
  24. news of upcoming ICS events, articles on ICS resources, and technical features of
  25.  interest to ICS members.
  26. I am looking forward to seeing the first issue, currently scheduled to ship at th
  27. e end of April.

  29. Planning for Three Conferences Under Way
  30. We╤ve also been very active on the conference front, with no less than three even
  31. ts planned over the
  32. next year.  We have two full ICS conferences, held in conjunction with ISA/92 CAN
  33. ADA (Toronto,
  34. April 27-30) and ISA/92 (Houston, October 18-22), which will feature technical se
  35. ssions, tutorials,
  36. keynote speakers, and ICS committee meetings.
